In the statement signed by Yekini Nabena, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary, of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on behalf of the Secretariat, the APC highest body said, “ (APC) has been drawn to …earlier reported “indefinite suspension” of some other party members in the state. The actions are a nullity “
The statement immediately cast doubt on the credibility of the State Chairman, who signed the suspension of leading members of the State Executive Committee. The members of the APC SEC have since elected their own Chairman and suspended Governor Kayode Fayemi for alleged anti-Party activities, including supporting PDP’s Governor Obaseki in Edo state.

The Ekiti State Factional Chairman, Mr. Omotosho had earlier in the day, asked the party leaders that declared his seat vacant to recant their statement before the end of day. In a related development, Former Aviation Minister, Mr. Femi Fani Kayode stated in his Facebook page that Governor Fayemi was a loyal member of his party. This statement seem to further buttress the claim of observers who have sensed the slow march of Governor Fayemi and his group to the PDP
